Hello!
I'm Huy (Pat) Tran
Through my projects, I focus on form, material, and sensory experience as tools for emotional connection. I value clarity, empathy, and adaptability, and I approach design with the belief that how a product makes someone feel is just as important as how it works.
Outside of design, I enjoy making model kits that replicate intricate details, which allows me to apply my design knowledge and skills. I also enjoy cooking and trying new dishes. I love to explore new cultures, places, foods and nature.
I’m most engaged when designing products that feel intuitive, calming, and quietly supportive. By combining practical utility with soft aesthetics and intentional interaction, I aim to create objects that reduce friction in daily life and foster a sense of comfort, presence, and connection. I’m particularly interested in home goods, entertainment, and products that transform routine interactions into meaningful rituals.
I’m an Industrial Design student at California State University, Long Beach. I focused on creating thoughtful, human-centered products. My work explores how everyday objects can support people functionally and emotionally, especially in daily personal routines and entertainment.
